May 2009 recap.....

Lots happened around here this month, although it was calm compared to April! Going away parties for a few friends, command events and lots of "end of school" activities! Ashleigh's report card came the other day, and she passed Kindergarten with flying colors. Perfect scores in everything, all year! We're so proud of her!
Here's her school pics:Fall 2008
Spring 2009

Aiden finished the year wonderfully too (with only one trip to timeout the whole year....for "boxing" after Daddy let him play it on the Wii!). He loved school and misses it already. We're gonna go visit the kids at the summer program this week, so he can say hi!
Here's his school pic:

I've been scrapbooking alot this month (see the next post) and Erik has been attempting to heal his foot some more. He goes in on June 10th for an MRI, and hopefully he'll get some answers then. I'd really like to see him play ball some more (it does his mind good) and be able to ride his motorcycle too! This week brings some fun MOMS Club events, and hopefully a fully painted bathroom--I hope to tackle it, as well as selling the rest of the yard sale pile, and mowing the yard too! A bit overly ambitious maybe, but I hope not! Gotta order a new bed too....we sold the other one (a bit quicker then we wanted to), and now we're back to camping for a few more days! It's been adventurous for sure!!

Off to veg in front of the tv for a few and then scrap a little more! I have been on a roll!

31 days, 31 layouts.......CHECK!

I survived! There's been a few crazy days toward the end of the month here that I've considered dropping out.....but at the last minute, and once while crammed in the teeny tiny back seat of an SUV in the pouring rain, I managed to get everydays layout submitted! Here's a snapshot of them all in one (and today's layout):
Here's a link to larger images of them (you can scroll through too, to see them all!):
http://www.flickr.com/photos/16527938@N00/

I love this challenge and can't wait to participate again! You can follow Lain Ehmann's blog at http://knitandpurlgrrl.blogs.com/scraphappy/ to see when the next challenge is coming, if you'd like to participate too!

I was also able to get lots of paper pages done this month too! I did several at the Nat'l Scrapbook Day crop at the beginning of the month, 3 yesterday at our Navy FRG crop, and about 20 done here at home this month! It's been great fun!

Ok.....off to write a recap post of our month. It's been a busy one, although not as busy as last month! (and luckily everyone's been healthy until this week!)

Missed a few days.....

Things got a little crazy around here this week...Erik was out of town for work, and I was attempting to hold down the fort again. It was all good except for Ashleigh's rough days at school....I'm hoping that its a phase that centers around the end of the school year, being 6, and it being rainy, hot and muggy here lately. I did get my Layout a Day done each day, and a few other projects too (can't show you them yet tho)!
Here's my LOAD pages for the last few days...
Day 5:

Day 6:Credits: Template (Flergs), Pink & Blue Cardstock (Jeannie Papai), Tan Cardstock (Andrea),

Day 7: Credits: Template (Corey), Cuddlebug Kit (Lisa Michelle, Sweet Pea Designs), Font: SB Toby Type

Day 8:

I really need to start printing my layouts....or uploading them to get bound into books. I have so many digital layouts on my hard drives and only a smidgen of them printed. My problem I think is that I want them printed in chronological order, but I don't want to invest the time in putting them in order before I upload them. Oy. Someday right?

Ok....I'm off to a scrapbooking class with Ashleigh. It's gonna be a fun one!! One of my best buds is teaching the class and several of my scrappin pals are gonna be there with their girls too!

I hope everyone has a great day! Thanks for looking and reading!

Day 4....a little more involved....

This layout has a few more layers, and took a little more time then the last 3. But, I love the way it turned out and I'm so glad its the last Welcome Home page that I have to scrap for a few years! Shore duty is our friend!

Rubber Bands (Dirty Feet Designs aka Heather Benson),
White Ribbon (Carol Abram), Alpha Doodles Alpha (Designs by Brooklyn),
Worn Alpha (Elegant Word Art by Bethany), Font: CK Typist

My household duties are calling my name, so I guess I had better get busy! I need to get a shower, some laundry done, the dishes put away, and a couple packages mailed....here's hoping one arrives in time for Mother's Day!
Hope you all have a great day!

Day 3....on a roll!

Here's my 3rd digital layout this month:
Credits: Quickpage (Kelley Mickus), Font: Pea Jenny

Yesterday's National Scrapbooking Day Crop was an AWESOME success! I got about 40 cards made (using nothing but scraps), 12 blocks covered with paper and letters (teacher gift), 4 layouts for the Scrap Shack, and to top the night off, I won the GRAND PRIZE!!!!
Here's a pic of it:
It's a rolling Fiskars tote stuff full of Fiskars and Cloud Nine goodies! I wish I'd have bought a lotto ticket last night...it was my LUCKY day appearantly! There were 138 tickets in the basket (yes, I counted) and there were only SIX with my name on them......one of those was the lucky one!! (The mathmatician in me says that I had a .043 % chance in winning......that's really not a very high number......but it paid off!!)

Now I'm off to unpack, do some more laundry (4 loads already today..its sheet changing day), and get a shower! Then maybe I'll work on the last project I had planned to get done yesterday (and didn't)!

I hope that everyone (all 3 readers I have) is having a great day!

LOAD Day 2

Credits: Template (Ellie Lash), Giving Kit (Summer Driggs), Hand Stamped Alpha Brush (Michelle Coleman), Font: SP Inspired

I'm off to a National scrapbook Day all day crop, so needed to get this one done early! It was definitely a MESSY day on Christmas, and todays LOAD prompt was to scrapbook the chaos......so I did!! Now I'm off and running. I hope you have a great day!

I'm off to a good start! It's only 9am and I have one page done! Its not perfect (crooked title) but OH WELL! I hope everyone has a great day!

A month has gone by? Really?

ACK. They say that time flies when you're having fun, so I suppose I should forget the negative and focus on the positive that's happened over the last few weeks!
I spent the last weekend of March at the The Scrap Shack (http://www.scrapshackga.com) for their 1st Birthday bash....it was AWESOME and I got lots done! You can see some of my stuff in my gallery over there (click Design Team, then on Ramie's Designs). Here's a few other projects I did:A fun page with a pic of me and my best friend Dawn! Love the color scheme and the way it turned out....I miss you girl!!
Ok...sorry...forgot to rotate the pic before I uploaded it....its a layout about Ashleigh's favorite zoo animal! She loves them (cuz they're pink)!

A little something to hang on the wall in my new room! It's up on a shelf now, but will soon be on the wall!

There's lots more, but mostly they were pre-made pages for gift albums. I hope to get them in the mail soon...so their recipients can see them too!

Other things happening:
We spent a couple days at Disney World for Spring Break! It was an awesome (although cut short) trip, and we are looking forward to going back, after the weather cools down in the fall!! Here's a few highlight pics:
Erik is moving from one office to another this month, so he took a few weeks off...after Disney World, we came home and painted the bathroom, did some much needed spring yard work, and purged lots of things for a yard sale soon. Then we headed to Jacksonville last weekend for a softball tournament. Had a great time and enjoyed the people we were with, the weather (it was AWESOME) and got to see a Navy ship pull into port after a long deployment. It was a wonderful weekend away (even though Erik wounded himself....he's got a strained achilles tendon......but he's just a little gimpy, not too bad off really).

Someday, life will slow down......it seems like the last few months have whizzed by, but its all been good (other than illness, but whatever....that never gets us down for too long......or at least I keep telling myself that!).

May brings the end of the school year (ALREADY? ack), another round of LOAD (Layout a Day challenge) and hopefully lots of scrapbooking!

Ok.....sorry this has been such a long post. I hope to do better over the next couple months!

Long time no post......

To say that the last few weeks have been weird would be an understatement. It seems that its been non-stop illness for at least one of the four of us, and the weather has been so roller-caster ride like that its not even funny! We've had threats of snow, tons of rain, days of gray skies and nights of thick fog....and we've had gorgeous spring weather too....days in the 80's, sunshine, gentle breezes and the smell of fresh air!

I'm still working on redoing my scrapbook room. The project started almost 2 weeks ago...and I've not made any forward progress lately. I have 2 walls to paint still, one bookshelf to assemble and LOTS to rearrange. I hope to get in there tomorrow....if Aiden is well enough to go back to school!

I'm so ready to welcome Spring in on Friday. I can't wait to have some warmer days, so we can have the windows open (thank goodness for no seasonal allergies here!). I want these germs to MOVE OUT already!!

Ok....I better get busy...another load of laundry is calling, there's a kid asking for food (first time all day) and my dear husband will be home soon....he's probably gonna want food too!!

To my Drinking Team---HAVE A GREAT time tonight!! I miss you!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!
(I'd post a pic of the kids in their green, but its not something anyone wants to see.....I promise!)

Time flies...when you're caring for sick kids....

It seems I've been running in a big circle lately...and the only stop seems to be at the Dr's office! Both kids have had wicked chest colds and coughs that can shake the walls. And now Aiden and I have pink eye! We've been to the drs office (either mine or theirs) at least 5 times in the last 3 weeks. Today's visits were hopefully the last for awhile. Got some good meds to kick my sinus infection and eye drops for our eyes. Hoping that the warm weather coming later this week will help a little too!

Other stuff happening around here....LOAD ended on the 28th. I was glad it was over, but sad to se it go too. Started LOAW (Layout A Week) and have my first page due by Saturday.....so will need to get on that soon! Here's the last couple pages from the LOAD Challenge:
Digital Credits: A Little Christmas Mini Kit (Dani Mogstad), Font: CK Elegant (I think)
Digital Credits: Template (Dunia Stella Acauan), Cardboard Sheet (Micheline Martin), Funky Black Alpha (Misty Cato), Curled Edge No. 1 (Gunhild Storeide), Green Paper (Very Merry Christmas Paperpack Freebie, Andrea), Sparkle Flowers (Fei Fei's Stuff), Font: Pea Jamie*B*

I've not done any scrapping since the 28th...but I am redoing my scraproom, so I've been rearranging, painting and organizing! I hope to get to IKEA one day this week to get some bookshelves that I want, so I can get things back together a bit more this weekend!

Other things happening...its Dr Suess week at school for Ashleigh. They are celebrating his birthday ALL week. Monday was supposed to be pajama day, but they had a snow day (even tho we had NO snow...not even one flake). Today was Green day and tomorrow is Crazy Sock day. Thursday is something about wild color combinations and Friday is hat day. We made Ashleigh's Green Eggs & Ham hat today....gonna try to get some pics of her with it on tomorrow. She thought of almost all of it herself, and it's pretty ingenious I think!

Erik is finishing some training at work, and will resume a normal work schedule next week (I think), so I'm hoping we can easily adjust! (although, in the overall scheme of things, there's no point in readjusting....since he'll be switching jobs/schedules/etc again in May....).

The end of March brings the Scrap Shack's Crop A Lot Weekend Bash! I'll be scrappin from Friday morning til Sunday at dinner time! I'm psyched! I can't wait! It'll be like vacation....cuz I'm NOT coming home to sleep!

Ok....I'm just rambling, so I'll stop......night!

Load day 26....only 2 left...

There's only two days left of this years LOAD challenge. I'm glad, because its getting a bit daunting some days (when real life is hectic and with the kids being sick)....but I'm sad too, because it really makes me accountable for scrapbooking....it forces me to make time for me, and what I like to do. So, I'm going to challenge myself to a page every other day, for the month of March. I'm planning to post them here, so will someone (if there's anyone out there reading this) please keep me accountable?!

Here's the last couple days pages:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (WM [squared] Designs), White Painted Acylic Alpha (K Aagard), Font: CK Alis Writing
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Chris Young), Funky Print Alpha Brush (Mindy), Font: CK Handprint
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Tracy), Lil Stinker Green Alpha (Krystal Hartley), Font: CK Becky

Digital Credits: Quickpage (Jonee, Weeds & Wildflowers), Font: CK Primary

As you can tell, I have a thing for Quickpages. I love them. I love the simplicity of them (for me) and the look of them (because the designers that create them are geniuses!). I typically only add a title, journaling or some word art to them. They don't need much else...and that makes me happy!

I'm off to put a few things on Craigslist, while I have a few minutes! Hope everyone is having a great day and thanks for checkin out these layouts!

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Soooo....its been a few days.....and your point?!

It's been a crazy week here....and I was out alot....but we've been home today, trying to play catchup, so maybe I can catch up here too?!

Last I posted was Tuesday I think...Wednesday was a pretty uneventful and unproductive day. I didn't get to scrap while the kids were at school, but I did manage to get Aiden's closet finished, and got some yard sale stuff piled up! Then I headed out for Moms Night Out with some friends (was supposed to go to a Navy meeting, but it got cancelled at the last minute). Had a great time and an awesome raspberry martini. Thursday I spent the day cleaning and playing with Aiden, and prepping a few things for a meeting, and for Fridays crop! Did some laundry, dishes...you know the boring stuff. Then I was off to a Navy meeting for a few hours. Had some YUMMO desserts and laughed alot! Friday I dropped Aiden off at school and got right to scrappin...well, kindda....cleaned my scraproom up some, and then finished packing...did a few digital layouts and then hurried back to pick him up! Then after I tried to get him to nap, I snoozed for a few on the couch, and headed out for a crop as soon as Erik got home! I had a great time, and even won a prize--for having a golf ball in my purse! (it was plastic, but they had to give it to me, since I was the only one with a golf ball of any type!...and they had already cancelled my win for an ear plug...I only had one, and she asked for ear plugS). I, unfortunately, could not fit Keno Man in my purse....will bring a bigger bag next time! (on tuesday, I mean!).

Here's my LOAD pages for this week:
Digital Credits: Template (Alane Pan), Advent Calendar Bits & Pieces (Cat Scrap), Merry Mistletoe
Blue Paper (Chere Nordstrand), Blue Snowflake and Green Backgrounds (Ellie Lash),
Fonts: LD Punch Out, Times New Roman, Pea Jamie*B*

Digital Credits: Quickpage (K Sharon K Designs)
Font: Scrap Cursive

Digital Credits: Quickpage (Dani Mogstad), Font: SP Inspired

Digital Credits: Template (Charlene Virkler), Cotton Candy Kit (Mandy Mystiques Design), Paper Cuts Alpha (Terri Martin)
Font: CK Ali's Writing

Digital Credits: Quick Page (purple tulip designs), font: CK Typewriter

I'm planning to unpack the stuff I did at the crop sometime tomorrow. I hope to get it all photographed and up here for your viewing pleasure soon!

To conclude, here's a pic of Ashleigh's new do. She chose the hairstyle all by herself (although I think it got cut a little shorter then she expected....it'll grow tho!).

Here's hoping everyone has a wonderful evening! I'll be back......

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

A few more pages....

Today was another busy day, but a good one! Got lots done this afternoon, and am glad that the house is clean too! Gonna scrap while the kids are at school tomorrow!

Here's todays LOAD page:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (dy_juno), Font: CK Kindergarden

Here's a couple others I've done in the last couple days too!
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Amanda Wall), Fonts: AL Slab, CK Handprint

Digital Credits: Quickpage (J Schmitt), Christmas Joy Stamp (Katie Pertiet), Font: LD Remington Portable

And here's another paper page I made for the Scrap Shack:
Supplies: Two Scoops Papers (Basic Grey), Cardstock, Flowers & White Just The Edges (Bazzill), Photo Corner Punch (EK Success),
Border Punch (Fiskars), Crystal Stickles (Ranger), 2”, 3” & 4” Circles (AccuCut), Glitter Cuts Title (Fancy Pants), Yellow Eyelet

I think its time to hit the couch...I can't figure out why the font sizes on here keep going wonky (thanks Cricket & Kathy for that word), and I'm tired of trying to figure it out! Erik is doing homework this evening, so I'm gonna go watch something that's on the DVR!
Night!

Presidents Day

Happy Monday!
Erik is home today, and Ashleigh is on Winter Break, so has today and tomorrow off (good thing, cuz she woke up coughing last night and sounds pretty yucky today, but is better than she was last night!). We've had a pretty laid back day, and we've not done much...I spent the morning putting our 2007 scrapbook pages into albums. It's a novel idea...I spend months getting all the pages made, and then they sit for even more months in these plastic drawers in my office....now they are ALL out and in albums, to be enjoyed! (And I rearranged the bookshelf to hold all the albums...I took out the ones holding pages from before 2003....they are moving to my office for the time being!)
The kids have played inside alot, watched a little tv, and they played outside for a couple hours too! Now Aiden is chillin with The Wiggles, and Ashleigh & Erik are playing guitar in the other room. I'm doing some digi-scrappin and updating here! Fun huh?

Here's todays LOAD page:
Digital Credits: Comfort and Joy 1 Quickpage (SM), Sentimental Cuts (Lauren Reid), Font: LD Fierro

Here's a pic of all the albums lined up pretty like on the bookshelf:
See that bottom shelf? Its ALL Ashleigh....every book down there has pages of the girl in them! Aiden has the two blue ones on the next shelf up....with the white tags hanging from them! Poor little guy...he has nowhere near the number of pages she does. I hope that it doesn't someday become an issue! LOL!

Ok....I'm gonna go do a couple more pages and ponder a plan for dinner. I think we might go out, but I don't know....we've probably got some leftovers that we should eat!

Sunday, February 15, 2009

LOAD Day 15...and date day!

A pretty nonchalant day around here really...started the day by purging Aiden's closet, including the rubbermaid bins of baby clothes that I thought we needed to keep.....am keeping my faves, but the rest are being passed on, or sold! Went from 4 tubs to 1 and a half (the half is stuff that he's not big enough for yet!). Then I purged a few more toys from the stacks too!

Then we dropped the kids off at my girlfriends house for a couple hours, and hit a few stores (didn't buy much) and had a late lunch/early dinner at PF Changs. It was YUMMO!

Here's my LOAD for today...another simple digital page:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Creating Keepsakes), Notepaper Sparkle 1 Alpha (Gina Maria Designs), Font: FB Buttercream

Now I'm off to watch my Sunday shows.....YAY for The Amazing Race starting again, and then its time for Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters! I hope everyone has had a great day!

Night!

Saturday, February 14, 2009

It's been a busy week....long post....

So, its been almost a week since I've updated this...its been a busy one too!

Monday was playgroup and some last minute prepping for Tuesday.
Tuesday was an all day affair...our Moms Club did a preschool fair and it was a huge success, but a lot of work too! (we were gone from the house from 915am until after 5pm). Then I went out for drinks with some friends and laughed so hard that I cried...a couple times! It was a LONG day, but an awesome one!
Wednesday was most unproductive day...felt like I was hungover (ok, mightta been a little) and like I'd gotten hit by a truck (did cross a few major intersections on foot to post signs on tuesday..) And Wednesday night Erik was out at a concert for the evening, so I put the kids to bed and went to bed early too!
Thursday was a busy day...a trip to the grocery store, early release/parent teacher conferences at school, and a kid swap with some friends (I watched hers while she went to her conference, she kept mine while I went). A last minute trip to the bank and some last minute prep for Friday followed.
Friday involved a trip to a flower wholesaler, to pick up 42 dozen roses (I'm loved, but not THAT loved). Off to the base to sell the roses to Sailors....am guessing we helped make some wives, girlfriends and daughters into happy gals today! Hung out there most of the day, then it was home to kid swap again...we kept some friends kids so they could have a date...they're keeping ours tomorrow. It was fun, but exhausting too...and so much more affordable then a babysitter!
Today we started the day with heart shaped pancakes, then I showered and headed to the Scrap Shack to scrap the day away. So bummed that Lynn has to move, but so thankful for her friendship and spending the day with her. The kids made dinner tonight (pizza & salad) and then we exchanged cards & gifts. They had a great time, and I got a new charm for my bracelet...I'll post about it soon!

LOAD is still happening and I'm up to date and still going strong, thanks to digital pages...and using Quickpages!
Here's this weeks pages:
Monday:
Digital Credits: Template (Shazbutt's Digi Scrapz), Play Time! Kit (Joyful Heart Designs), Note Tag (ZigZag Scraps), Word Art (Dirty Feet Designs), Funky Black & White Alpha (Misty Cato), Balloons & Cupcake (Heather Roselli), Font: CK Typist

Tuesday:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Abish Allen), Bare chipboard Alpha (Katescrap), Font: FB Lipgloss

Wednesday:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Kim B Designs), Word Art (lieN), Font: Pea Jamie*B*

Thursday:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Biebel Scraps), Font: Pea Jamie*B*

Friday:
Digital Credits: Quickpage (Creating Keepsakes), Font: CK Tall Type

And today's page...its all paper (and my first paper layout this month!):
Supplies: Two Scoops Papers (Basic Grey), Cardstock, Flowers & White Just The Edges (Bazzill), Photo Corner Punch (EK Success), Grom-lets & Big Bite (We R Memory Keepers), White Thickers (American Crafts), Brad, Ribbon, Notebook Paper

Ok...if you've made it this far--THANK YOU. For reading, for looking, and for caring! I know my life is rather ordinary, and I'm so thankful for that...and I appreciate you caring!

I'm off to add the Scrap Shack link to my blog (for fear of being cut off), and then I'm gonna email this link to some scrappy friends! (*waving to Jill & Amy*). Night!

Wow....busy busy.....but its a good busy!!

Sorry I didn't update this yesterday (not that I have a ton of followers or anything...but ya know!). We went to the zoo in the morning, and had a great time. The kids LOVED it (as usual) and we got to do a few super fun things there...we fed some birds with nectar (Erik and I both ended up with birds on our arms), and the kids fed the giraffes! The lion cubs have tripled in size since this fall, and Aiden wants one...Ashleigh just wants a few pink flamingos, cuz they are her favorite color! (and they were gorgeous yesterday).
Today has been a busy one too...cleaning, a meeting, several people & kids here, chores, etc.....now its almost my tv time (Desperate Housewives & Brothers and Sisters!).
So, before a crazy week kicks off, I thought I'd post my last couple days worth of LOAD layouts! Here's yesterdays:
Credits: Quickpage (Crystal), Stamped Alpha (Dunia), Date Bits 4 (Misty Cato), Fonts: FB Buttercream

Here's today's page...just a quick one showing some cool pics of snowflakes on our trash can....I know...silly place to take pics, but the flakes were crystal clear. Wish the camera had caught as much detail as we could see!
Credits: Quickpage (Britt-ish Designs); Whimsical Wonderland WordArt (ChaosLounge), SSLayer
File Tabs Brush (MST, ScrapGirls), Font: FB Buttercream

Ok....I'm off in time to catch the end of Home Makeover (tear jerker for sure) and catch my other shows! Thanks for looking...and night!

Friday, February 6, 2009

LOAD Day 6....and a busy (but great) life.....

I've been told that I might be tackling too many projects all at once.....probably, but I won't admit total defeat yet. I'm still plugging away at the LOAD challenge, and here's my layout for Day 6:

Credits: Template (JFish), Express Yourself Kit (Carrie Stephens), Fonts: SP Toby Type, Marcelle Script

(Oops...there is a white background behind that layout, and I'm sure its gonna look like floating pics and words when it posts to my bog....sorry....)

Other things going on here include a trip to the zoo tomorrow, finishing up some MOMS Club paperwork and projects for a huge preschool fair we're hosting next week, reading some Navy paperwork and helping Ashleigh work on her Valentine's projects for school. She's handwriting all her cards this year (at her choosing) and it's taking some time to get through them all, but she's loving it. We have to make the box too....always my favorite part when I was a kid!

Ok....off to wrap up one more project tonight! (and tomorrow I hope to finish all the other ones I have started...after the zoo of course....unless Erik will willingly take them so I CAN finish things.....ok, that was hopeful thinking...)

Night!

Real quick before my hubby has a fit....we're gonna watch a movie and he's waiting on me!

Here's my day 5 (that's today) layout:

Thanks for looking! Happy Scrappin!

LOAD day 4

Its been a busy few days, and while I did get my LOAD page done yesterday, I didn't get it posted on here. Here it is, in all its "glory"!

Here's another layout I did yesterday, or maybe it was the day before...I can't remember now ;-)
Credits: Template (Cindy Schneider), Playdate Add-On Mini Kit (Amy Bleser), Yellow Alpha (Cintia Scrap), Font: CK Gutenberg

I'm off to put the kids to bed, then we're gonna watch a movie and I'm gonna try to sneak in todays LOAD page while we're watching...or else I'm pulling a late one! (its all in the name of a challenge! he he he!).

I hope everyone's having a great day...
